"I crossed over an invisible threshold and into the picture frame. It was like stepping into a mirror - letting go of my observer mind and becoming part of the carnival itself. I recall holding up my camera one last time and seeing this moment and knowing that I got it on film. In  the foreground, Garth Hudson is passing by with his tuba. Rick Danko exchanges a look with the Nun that has nothing to do with Holy Orders. David Blue studies the Belly Dancer closely while Bob, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson talk with Reid Miles off to the left, who’s getting ready to photograph the Basement Tapes cover portrait. An electric moment..."
